Would you want to have an employee who is extremely good at his or her job but has a bad attitude or an average employee who has a positive attitude? Experienced CEOs understand that bad attitudes can reduce the effectiveness of their organization. Skills can be taught. Attitude is difficult to change.
People with positive attitudes are winners. They build an environment that values employees, suppliers and customers. They think positively. The words don't and can't are not in their vocabulary.
How do we identify winners? It is hard to tell by casual observation. Winners dress the same as everyone else, eat at the same restaurants and work at the same companies. Successful people come in all personality types, physical characteristics and professions. We identify them by their attitudes, behaviors and results.
Winners don't give up. The sad truth about people who give up is they are just as capable as those who don't. The main difference is their attitude.
Conscious thoughts precede actions. By choosing our thoughts, we act our way into certain circumstances. Positive attitudes help us be more productive. We are who we think we are. If we think we can, we can. If we think we can't, we can't. Attitude Defined
What is an attitude? Some say it's a mindset, a way of thinking, which is partly right. In simple terms, an attitude is a habit of thought. Usually we think of habits as behaviors; the way we do something. Habits can be mental as well. Therefore an attitude is our habitual way of looking at our world.
We develop attitude habits through conditioning. Conditioning begins at a very early age and continues throughout our lives. Sometimes our conditioning is negative, for instance a mother's admonitions to a young child. This negativity may generate many self imposed limitations.
The elephant provides a simple example. An elephant is staked to the ground. As a baby it isn't strong enough to remove the stake. Later when the elephant is full grown and could easily pull the stake, it doesn't because it "knows" it can't.
Our attitudes are the key to our health, relationships, happiness and achievements. They determine how we live and whether we succeed in life.
We control our attitudes. We alone have the responsibility to shape our life. Walt Kelly said: "We have met the enemy and they is us. We are all that is holding us back."
Attitudes of Winners
Winners have many positive attitudes. Three that are particularly important in professional lives are enthusiasm, persistence and desire.
Enthusiasm produces the confidence that announces to the world, "I have what it takes."
Enthusiasm is often misunderstood. It is frequently confused with the temporary exuberance seen at sporting events.
Long lasting enthusiasm is different. It is a confident commitment, a wholehearted action, an ardent belief. When you possess enthusiasm life is more enjoyable and work is always part play no matter how demanding. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." Persistence is critical. Faced with difficulties, you can quit or keep pushing on. The choice is yours. But if you want to be a winner you will stay with the task and see it through.
Modern technology has taught us to expect instant gratification. We become discouraged if we have to wait. Many people give up when faced with delay. Time, dedication and commitment are always the minimum price tag we pay to complete projects that are important.
How do we project persistence? Never, never, never give up!
Intense desire creates opportunities and reveals new personal talents. Desire is much more than wishing or wanting. Desire differentiates between mature commitment and unfocused daydreaming.
Those who lack desire are always too busy to do what needs to be done. Desire pushes you to work harder in a positive sense. People with strong desire understand the pure joy of work. Their success comes not at the end of a battle, but as the culmination of a game. Every day they work towards their long range goals, reinforcing their desire to do more and do it better each day.
Desire is the attitude that transforms us from average to outstanding achievers.
Attitude and Work Environment
Many employees believe that their employer is solely responsible for the conditions that lead to job enjoyment. This is only partially true. Both the employer and employees have a shared responsibility for building positive workplace expectations.
Yes, the company and management have responsibility. Effective CEOs build a culture where people want to work and want to excel. They ensure, by leading with a Servant's Heart, that their employees feel appreciated and know the company has their personal best interests in mind.
Employees also have responsibilities. If they have a positive productive attitude they will to be happy. Conversely those who always complain create an environment that drags their coworkers down. Employees are responsible for creating their personal satisfaction on their job.
Employees with positive attitudes make their work environment a positive experience. They strive for an attitude of excellence and exude excellence in the way they work.
They go the extra mile. Instead of thinking "I did my part, someone else dropped the ball," they ensure a positive outcome by refusing to accept the alternative.
We can choose to do the minimum required or we can decide to excel. This decision to make a difference is a personal attitude that desires us to be the best we can be.
Summary
Experienced leaders understand how positive attitudes play an important part in driving the success of their organization. They build a culture where positive people can thrive and reach their personal goals. These leaders understand that when both the organization and employees reach their goals great accomplishments are possible.
People with positive attitudes are winners. They think "I can," not "I can't."
Attitudes are the mental habits through which we view our world. They are key to all the success and happiness we gain in our personal and professional lives.
People with positive attitudes overcome problems. They don't accept mediocrity. They view their work as a game helping them reach their long term goals.
People with positive mental attitudes exhibit personal leadership. Regardless of their professional responsibilities, they live their lives in a manner that inspires others.

Self-Confidence Builders: 6 ways you can start feeling better about yourself, starting now
When your self-confidence soars, everything benefits – your body, your relationships, possibly even your pocketbook.
Here are six simple things you can do today to build your self-confidence.
1. Listen to the way you talk to yourself. Experts say that a full 70 to 80% of our thoughts are negative, and that can eat away at your self-confidence - day in and day out. It may sound corny, but changing your inner monologue can help your self-confidence in untold ways.
Here are some ideas:
Set a timer for random, intermittent periods of time. When the alarm goes off, immediately tune in to find out what you were thinking about. If it’s negative, make a conscious effort to bring your thoughts immediately into something more positive.
Write your own affirmations. Say them twice daily – or record them into a tape recorder and listen to them in your car or while doing daily chores.
Ask a friend to listen for negativity in your conversations. When negativity crops up, immediately say something positive.
Listen to behavior modification audios that target negative self-talk. These can be really effective – and come in both subliminal and non-subliminal varieties.
2. Look your best. Superficial as it may sound, the way you feel about your appearance on a daily basis can really build self-confidence. Go through a stack of magazines and tear out photos of hairstyles and clothing that are appealing to you. How can you incorporate some of those images into your present look? It takes just minutes a day to polish your appearance, and you’ll instantly look and feel more self-confident. When you look and feel more confident, you’ll act more confident. And when you act more confident, you’ll be more confident.
3. Stand up straight. When you are feeling down, you are more likely to slouch and frown, which can make a bad mood even worse. Next time you don’t feel like smiling, pull your shoulders back, stand tall, and smile. Before you know it, your smile will be genuine. And you will be exhibiting a more self-confident you to the world.
4. Examine the energy of your friends. What kind of energy do you emit with friends? What kind of energy do your friends emit? Here’s a good litmus test: How do you feel about yourself and the world immediately after you leave the company of your friend? If you feel down and critical, make an effort to be around more positive, self-confident people. Their energy will rub off on you.
5. Catalog your positives. Make a long list of all the accomplishments that you are proud of, and post it where you can see it every day. Now make a list of the personality characteristics that you are proud of. What makes you unique? Celebrate yourself and all the things that make you, you – without trying to change them.
6. Be grateful. Start your day by jotting down 5 things you are looking forward to. And end your day by writing 5 things you enjoyed. By acknowledging the blessings in our lives, we get a sense for the bigger picture and our larger life purpose, which is much, much more than the day-to-day obstacles of our lives.
I will have much more on building your self-confidence in future post, for now use the six simple steps . They work!

How to Stop Negative Thoughts to Attain Your Goals
Are you struggling to achieve a certain goal in your life? At work, in your own business, in your relationships or health? Have you been working on that particular goal for a long while now without making any significant or tangible progress or improvement?
Only quite recently I made a profound discovery. A discovery that literally made me sit up and think differently every waking moment, a discovery that made me realise why I haven't been able to achieve one of my goals in spite of my working hard and meticulously towards it.
I understood it was present in all the other areas in my life, but not in this area, surely? Not in my financial area!
That discovery did not come about by chance. After struggling for ages, from working hard, to working smart, to being totally focused, to working meticulously for long hours towards my financial goal and not achieving it, I decided to ask myself, over and over again the question, What do I have to do to achieve my financial goal?
I suppose through the process described as the Law of Attraction, I come across the word 'financial blueprint' in a book I was reading, and those two words stuck out like a sore thumb and for some reason I was unable to get them out of my mind.
A short time later, I picked up a book about millionaire minds and it was only then that I uncovered the truth.
For me to achieve my financial goal I needed to first identify my core beliefs about that goal; identify my thoughts and beliefs about money - find out which ones are in line with my goal and which ones aren't.
If my beliefs, or my financial blueprint are in alignment with my goal, my journey will be smooth and have much less resistance. However, if my beliefs are not in alignment with my goal, it is highly unlikely, even impossible for me to achieve it.
Those beliefs that are not in alignment are my limiting beliefs, my sabotaging beliefs. These negative thoughts that had become my beliefs or my financial blueprint will stop me cold. Dead. They will not allow me to achieve my goal no matter what.
Money and our relationship to it can be good or bad depending on our beliefs about money and wealth. What you believe about money will directly correlate to how much money you make, how you make money, and how you treat money.
Your beliefs can keep you in debt, struggling to make ends meet to support yourself and your family if you have one. (I firmly believe that all of us have a family to support, even if it's a family of one.)
Your beliefs about money can determine whether or not you can experience an infinite abundance. Your beliefs can also determine whether you create money through struggle or suffering. Your beliefs can keep you in a dead end job with no way to advance. Or you believe that the only way to make more money is by working harder longer, and have more jobs.
How do you feel about money? Do you relate money with wealth? Remember our thoughts control our lives, and our thoughts about money are just as controlling as our thoughts about our weight, our jobs, or our families.
The relationship with money will determine your financial comfort zone. This comfort zone feeling comes primarily from your subconscious, the part that is the deepest emotional realm. Your past experiences with money also determine your comfort zone. You will need to scrap all those beliefs right now in order for you to create whatever money amount you desire. You will need to give yourself permission to experience financial wealth.
During certain times while on the journey, I might think I am making some headway, but in the long run, I'm not progressing as much as I want to.
It was only after I challenged and eliminated the limiting beliefs, changed my financial blueprint, do I now have them working with me. I am now making great progress in that direction.
So what does this story of mine have anything to do with you?
If you are also struggling, not progressing or progressing at a pace that is not that you want, and are slowly gaining on living the life that you want, or to manifest the goal that you want, you must first identify what is holding you back, single out all your limiting beliefs in that particular area. Challenge them, eliminate them and instil new thoughts that will become your new beliefs.
How to stop negative thoughts?
Here's one way:
Say you want to ask for an increase in your wages, but as soon as you think about it, you become aware of your, "Yeah, but..." or "No way. You won't even knock her door" or "You'll stutter all the way through and she will definitely not give you the raise" or anything like that.
These are your negative thoughts, your limiting beliefs.
Changing limiting beliefs can be done and will change completely over time.
I found laughing off any limiting beliefs or negative thoughts to be very powerful and it works every time with me.
Any time a "Yeah but..." or "I can't do that" springs to mind I immediately laugh it off. I laugh loud and hard, to really send the message through. The message that this belief is rubbish. Spend a few minutes laughing it off.
If it creeps up again, it means the belief is deeper than you realised, so, laugh it off again. Soon enough it will disappear and you can say the positive belief that you want so as to replace that limiting one.
So, identify, tackle and eliminate any limiting beliefs, then replace them with powerful, positive self enhancing beliefs. That's how to stop negative thoughts from creeping up again. Any that come up. Zap. Have a belly laugh and make things happen.
Remember you deserve to be rich, and wealthy. You deserve all the money that you desire. Money was created for everyone's use equally. You don't need to work harder to obtain more money, you need to work smarter.
That also is one of the things we do here at Every Month a Million. We will show you the smarter way to obtain all the money you deserve.

The Two Faces of Awareness
Yesterday towards the end of the call Liza made a statement that brought up the subject of awareness.
Awareness is a great topic and it deserves some dedicated attention.
Also before the end of this call I’m going to promise you two things that I want you to carry away with you, and remember forever. I don’t take or make promises lightly, if I promise anything that means it is an absolute fact.
Awareness in the best possible term means we have learned the process, we know what to do and what not to do daily that will interrupt or interfere in using the law of attraction to reshape our lives, we have become consciously aware of our thoughts, our vibration and how to keep our energy attracting positively in our lives.
Once you have entered into a conscious consistent state of awareness it could be said that you are on the path to living an enlightened life. Enlightenment is something that many people think they have achieved but few actually have there are the Dee Pak Chopra’s of the world that are truly living and teaching enlightenment, I personally think it takes years to achieve a state of enlightenment.
Awareness should be your constant companion, just like self. Every second of every day you should be aware of your thoughts and actions, and the absolute power they have in your lives. Awareness is your ally and will become key to achieving the results in your personal and professional endeavors.
However awareness like many other emotions, such as negativity have the power to be a very dark influence in your process, in order to separate the two we will refer to the dark side of awareness as hyper awareness, conscious awareness is good, hyper awareness is bad.
Hyper awareness could be an occasional or constant force working against us. If you are hyper aware you would be aware of everything that’s wrong in your life. Go back and think about this, we get what we ask for, and we ask for it by thinking about, focusing on, or lending our attention to…therefore if you suffer from hyper awareness, you are focusing your thoughts on what’s wrong, rather than what’s right, by focusing your thoughts on what’s wrong that awareness is working in full force to deliver more of the same. Not only are you thinking about all that’s wrong, and ordering up some more, you are at the same time experiencing or creating the negative emotions that stem from being in a state of hyper awareness, stress, worry, negativity.
Promise number one…
I promise you that you are going to have disappointments, things are going to be wrong, and things are going to go wrong. If you are living and breathing things are going to happen that will immediately completely dominate your focus, and send you in to a state of hyper awareness. It’s what you do when you get there that matters. Accept that things are going to occur that will make you unhappy, cause you stress, and make you worry, then commit to overcoming these things quickly, by learning to analyze that which requires action on your part and that which does not. I think you will find that most of the things that occur are going to require little or no action on your part to quickly resolve to move past them.
Spend your time there and these problems become the forefront of you thoughts, they demand your focus and the creative process begins, once this occurs you have taken negativity into your conscious awareness, and remember by doing this you have just agreed that you want some more…and trust me… you will get it.
We have talked about holding patterns before and the number one way to get stuck in a bad place is to enter into a state of hyper awareness, and to allow that negative situation to begin to grow more and more of the same.
So how do we move past hyper awareness? In order to do this you have to analyze the situation, you all know I’m a big fan of list making. When faced with a problem try to itemize the situation list item one two and three, or nine or ten depending on the magnitude of the situation, but line by line list what the exact breakdown of the situation is. Once you have written that list go back and cross off everything on the list that requires zero action on your part, what things on the list can you do absolutely nothing about. The list just got a whole lot shorter, in some cases the items left will be things you are already working on , if that’s the case cross them off, and the list gets shorter. Now what’s left, if there is anything left would be things that you can do to change the situation. Now make a new list what action you need to take to resolve what’s left on the list, if you can’t come up with anything, cross it off.
The objective is to create a plan to resolve anything that may have caused you to enter into a state of hyper awareness in order for you to be able to put things in perspective and move past it knowing with confidence there is no need to worry, stress, or spend a lot of time thinking about something negative.
We know that in due time all things will pass, in years what happened today won’t matter. Because it’s human nature to problem solve or to become absorbed in all that is wrong we have a tendency to look at the magnitude of the entire situation, in many cases it may be more than one situation, but by contemplating the whole big ugly thing we become over whelmed, we become hyper aware, and then we start to experience the physical and emotional results of hyper awareness, not one good thing comes from it, just a whole lot more of the same bad stuff.
It’s always easier said than done, at least it sounds that way. Once you learn to recognize when situations occur that are causing you to focus on the bad rather than the good, it’s time for you to act quickly to break down the situation, put things in perspective, and reduce the magnitude of the situation.
The hardest thing for me to learn has been to accept that somethings occur that I can’t do anything about . I knew there was nothing I could do to change it, but I would hold on to it anyway. If there’s nothing that will change it today, there is nothing that will change it tomorrow, accept that and move on.
By accepting and moving on, we are able to let it go, when we let things go, we also move past all of the negative thoughts and feelings that are associated with the situation, then and only then do we regain the ability to re-enter the state of conscious awareness, a state of constantly creating all that is good.
We have talked before about internalization, it’s a big deal because all that could be wrong in our lives ceases to exist lest we internalize it. Everything is external (or an outside influence), it happens outside of our thoughts feelings and emotions. It is not until we begin to think about that which is wrong that we begin to internalize it, it is only by thinking about it that it becomes a powerful detraction in our life capable of derailing our progress.
My second promise…
I promise that nothing that occurs externally can ever hurt you, it is harmless until you choose to internalize it by lending you attention to it, it is only then that you give it the power to harm you physically or emotionally. It is only then that is has the power to change your destiny.
This is pretty much a fundamental principal of life, but I’m going to validate it even though if we really thought about it our common sense would say it’s so.
Think about it, do you feel emotional pain while your sleeping? No, you would only feel it if you were not sleeping because you were thinking about it.
Everything exists in our lives because we choose to internalize it by allowing it to exist. Would we intentionally allow pain to exist in our lives? Of course we would’nt, not intentionally, but because we choose to think about that which is painful we are agreeing to internalize it, we are allowing it to exist and allowing it to cause us stress, worry, anxiety, frustration. But the truth is without thought…all things cease to exist. Meaning they remain harmless, things that you are not thinking about are not causing you pain, or bringing you harm, if you are not internalizing your problems, they are not manifesting. By refusing to think about that which you cannot change it has zero power to create negative emotions, which attract more negativity, or for that matter to manifest one single thing that you do not welcome into your life. It is only that which we “feel” that has the power to create. Remember to choose is to allow…
Awareness is a great topic and it deserves some dedicated attention.
Also before the end of this call I’m going to promise you two things that I want you to carry away with you, and remember forever. I don’t take or make promises lightly, if I promise anything that means it is an absolute fact.
